Student Services & Advising
Your successful completion of a bachelor’s degree is important to us! As an online student, you can anticipate the same high-touch student services available to campus-based students. Our team of RN-BS Advisors and our Student Services Coordinator will help you outline your course schedule each semester and we will support you in completing the requirements for graduation.
We know that you are balancing school with family, work, and many other commitments and we are here to provide you with support, advice, and encouragement.

The School of Nursing is active on social media. We provide friendly reminders and updates daily on Facebook and Instagram, we tweet during nursing conferences. Our Linked In page is new for the 2017-2018 academic year and just starting to grown. University Resources for Online Students
Tutoring, Workshops, and Writing Consultations
Advising and Academic Enhancement (AAE) provides academic support for students including online tutoring, academic coaching, and success workshops. The Boise State Writing Center provides online consultations for students who want feedback on their writing assignments.
Accessible course content and services
We design all our courses to meet current accessibility standards. However, if you find you need an additional accommodation to fully participate in online courses or programs at Boise State University, the Educational Access Center is here to support you. You can request services online and an Educational Access Specialist will work with you and your program to provide the necessary support for you to be successful.
Career Planning and Job Search
The Career Center is your resource for applying for an internship, planning for your career, searching for a job, or preparing for graduate school. You can even schedule an appointment to speak with a Career Counselor. To learn more, visit the Virtual Career Center.
Research, Citations, Tutorials, Inter-library Loan
The Albertsons Library at Boise State is a wealth of knowledge and resources you can use throughout your academic career. You will find resources to aid in your research, properly cite your sources, how-to videos, and a variety of tools you can access from a distance.

The Office of Information Technology at Boise State provides support for a variety of systems including myBoiseState, Google Apps, and Blackboard.
Proctored exams from a distance
Some programs and courses may require one or more proctored exams. Proctoring promotes academic fairness and ensures both the integrity and credibility of online courses and programs. The Testing Center can assist in locating and scheduling a proctored exam with an approved proctor.
GI Bill, Academic Services, Support
If you are an active, transitioning, or veteran member of the military, the staff in Veteran Services are here to serve you. Veteran Services is your source for information and procedures relevant to all education benefits provided through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Upon admission to the RN-BS program, you will receive an email with a link to complete the RN-BS Orientation. Orientation is fully online and once completed, you will receive the information you need in order to register for classes.
The Nurses’ Station
Once you have registered for classes, you will have access to a dedicated online student portal located in Blackboard where you can be view important announcements, find resources, connect with other students, faculty and staff for advice, information, and support.
RN-BS Student Handbook
The Student Handbook contains information to help you navigate policies and procedures, including grievance polices, for the School of Nursing. In addition, the handbook includes DNP specific policies, program objectives and requirements, costs, clinical health requirements, and more. View the RN-BS Student Handbook.
As a Boise State student, your go-to resource is an online portal that provides access to your BroncoMail account, to financial aid resources, and to the online Student Center where you register, add/drop a class, view grades, view requirements for graduation, and more. Log in at my.BoiseState.edu.
Do you need to know when classes start, when spring break starts, or when commencement is scheduled? Boise State’s Office of the Registrar provides these important dates along with academic policy information and information on course registration, adding and dropping classes, and withdrawing from courses. Boise State University utilizes Blackboard Learn for online courses which requires a computer with sufficient memory, storage space, and processing power to run the current operating systems and software. Online courses frequently require you to download/upload large files and often include streaming audio and video, both of which require access to a high speed internet connections. Review the minimum technology hardware/software system requirements.
The undergraduate catalog contains information, policies, and procedures related to registration, fees, financial aid, etc. along with course descriptions, degree requirements, and course offerings. Download active catalogs.
