RN-BS Completion Track

My name is Eppie LaBiche RN, MSN, MBA/HCA, born and raised in Southern Louisiana. I am an online adjunct faculty member for the RN to BSN Nursing Program. My experiences in healthcare have been quite diverse in that I have been an educator for 11 years, involved in management for 12 years and very proactive in bedside nursing. My background includes acute care specific to Nursing Administration; Med/Surg; Telemetry; Orthopedics; and Inpatient Rehabilitation, hospice, home health and I traveled to various parts of the U.S. I have earned my BSN from William Carey College; MSN (Masters of Science in Nursing) from the University of Phoenix and MBA/HCA from South University. In addition, I have facilitated online learning for the past 2 ½ years.

My educational philosophy is simple in that everyone has the ability to learn regardless of their station in life. However, it is critical that students are ready to learn and not be intimidated by the advanced technology and new knowledge that exist in today’s world. To be successful with online learning, it requires commitment, ownership, communication and being proactive rather than reactive by both the students and the facilitators (instructors) alike…always ask questions.

On a more personal note, I enjoy reading motivational books. I tend to choose leadership books that are quick to read within a day or two. There are many great motivational authors but the top two on my list are: Ken Blanchard (there are co-authors with him): The One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey; The Leadership Pill; Who Moved My Cheese? (Spencer Johnson and Ken Blanchard) and OG Mandino: The Greatest Salesman in the World (Part I and II); The Twelfth Angel; The Choice; The Spellbinder’s Gift. In addition, you will find me cooking in the winter and gardening in the summer.
