Are there any application deadlines?

Completed applications for admissions to an annual cohort beginning each fall will be accepted until a maximum cohort size of 27 is reached or until July 15, whichever comes first.

Can I apply online?

Yes, the application and application fee can be submitted online. Transcripts must be sent directly from institution to Boise State.

Are all of the courses online?

The program will use a hybrid support model and will include two completely online courses (N-SIM 501 and 502) and one online course with an intensive 3-day on-campus practicum (N-SIM 503) in Boise, ID.

How many students are in the program?

A cohort of 27 enrollees can be expected to complete the Healthcare Simulation Certificate Program each 12 months beginning every fall semester and ending with the summer semester.

Do I have to have a GRE or other test score to be admitted?

No standardized tests scores are needed for admission.

Do I have to be admitted to the certificate program to take courses?

Priority will be given to enrollees wishing to complete the certificate program, although enrollment may be extended to individuals wishing to take a single course if there are unfilled seats available. Please contact the program director for further information.

What if I take one or more Healthcare Simulation Certificate courses as a non-degree-seeking student and then want to receive the certificate?

You must reapply to the Graduate College and select “Change from Non-degree to Degree seeking” as your Academic Goal to be accepted into the program and take all three courses to receive the certificate.

When/how do I receive my graduate certificate upon completion of the program?

Once certificate students are nearing completion of classes, they fill out a “proposed plan of study” document for the Graduate College. Once approved, they are eligible to apply for graduation. Upon successful graduation, the Registrar’s Office will send to the graduate all documents verifying successful program completion.

What if I have taken a similar course at another institution, will those credits transfer into this graduate certificate program?

No transfer credits will be accepted to fulfill requirements of the Healthcare Simulation Certificate.

I’m currently enrolled in a Graduate Program at Boise State. Can I sign up for classes in this certificate?
