Tyler G. Johnson, PhD

Professor, Department of Kinesiology

Tyler JohnsonTyler Johnson earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University in 2007. He completed MS and BS degrees in Physical Education from Brigham Young University in 2004 and 2002, respectively. He has been a member of the Department of Kinesiology at Boise State University since 2008 and teaches future physical education teachers and sport coaches. He is passionate about designing and implementing positive sport and exercise experiences for young people in physical education, interscholastic sports, youth sports, and other recreational programs. His research interests relate to participant motivation in physical activity settings, youth physical activity levels, philosophical foundations of physical education, and physical education teacher education.
