Uwe Reischl, PhD, MD

Professor, Department of Community and Environmental Health

Uwe ReischlUwe Reischl is a Professor in the Department of Community and Environmental Health in College of Health Sciences at Boise State University. Reischl is a public health physician with specialization in occupational medicine and Public Health. He has 23 years of University research, teaching, and administration experience. Reischl received his undergraduate and graduate training at the University of California at Berkeley where he obtained the Ph.D. degree in Environmental Health Sciences from the School of Public Health. Reischl received his medical training at the University of Ulm in Germany where he obtained the M.D.- Ph.D. degrees in medicine.

Currently, Reischl teaches courses in Public Health, Public Health Disaster Preparedness Planning, Public Health Marketing, Health Policy and Ethics, and Health Care Systems.

In addition to his teaching and research, Reischl has developed a strong link with the private sector. Reischl served as president of UTEK Corporation, a Florida based international business development company assisting industry in partnering with universities and governmental research organizations to commercialize intellectual properties world-wide. Reischl is also collaborating in research with a number of Idaho technology companies and serves on their Board of Directors.
