Pre-Dietetics Program

The Pre-Dietetics Program at Boise State University will prepare students to apply for admission to bachelor level dietetic programs across the country. In the State of Idaho, the University of Idaho (http://www.agls.uidaho.edu/fcs/students/CPD.htm) and Idaho State University (http://www.isu.edu/departments/hns/) each have dietetic programs. The program at University of Idaho is a Coordinated Program, which includes the clinical and administrative experience, along with the didactic course work. Once the program is complete, you would be eligible to write the Registration Exam . The program at Idaho State University is a didactic program (four-years) leading to a Bachelors degree followed by a post-baccalaureate internship. Admission to a coordinated program requires that all pre-requisites be completed prior to admission and the expectation is that you attend full time completing the courseware and clinical/admin experiences as outlined in the course of study. Please visit the University of Idaho and Idaho State University web sites for further information on their programs. Additional information about a career in dietetics can be found by viewing the Careers in Human Nutrition/Dietetics PDF file on the Society for Nutrition Education (SNE) web site at http://www.sne.org/nutrition_careers.pdf.
